Jolie Nguyen

I am a student leader attending Clark High School in the AMSAT magnet program. In 2022 at the beginning of my freshman year, I started an after-school food distribution program called Feeding Minds One Pizza at a Time. I worked with Pizza Hut, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers, Clark High School administrators, and my peers to provide food to fellow students who have food deficiencies. I will continue to manage my program until matriculation from Clark High School. For the past three years, I have worked under Tzu Chi Medical Association Las Vegas to coordinate student volunteers for free medical and dental outreaches. Starting in 2023, I will serve as a Nevada Youth Legislator of District 3 under the guidance of State Senator Nguyen and will continue to do so until 2025. As a youth legislator, I will be representing the interests of the youth of District 3. I will have an active role in the legislative process, which includes presenting one bill to the Nevada Legislature on an issue important to Nevada youth. I am a nationally ranked-fencer with eight years of experience. In the future, I plan to work with doctors and my fellow peers to coordinate more free medical and dental outreaches. My dream is to become a doctor and to be able to teach people about the importance of oral health, a good diet, and cavity prevention from a young age.
